• Sony Is Reportedly to Release the Upgraded PlayStation 4 in September

Posted on August 8th, 2016 admin No comments

According to Vice Gaming, Sony plans to unveil a 4K version of its PlayStation 4 next month. More likely, the upgraded PlayStation 4 will be named as PlayStation 4K Neo. The machine will reportedly be announced on September 7th during an event that will serve as a “technical showcase” for what the updated PS4 can do. That means we are likely looking at a preview of the new console’s graphics, but not necessarily firm details on when consumers will be able to buy it.

The upgraded PS4 is supposed to have improved specs that’ll allow it to run games at a higher resolution — right now, it can only go up to 1080p for games. Otherwise, the new model is more-or-less supposed to be the same console that’s been on the market for a few years, capable of playing the same games.

Sony has already confirmed that a 4K PS4 is in the works and that it’ll be sold alongside the existing PS4, at a higher price. “We will be selling both (versions) through the life cycle,” Andrew House, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s CEO, told the Financial Times in June. He added that even after this console’s release, “All games will support the standard PS4, and we anticipate all or a very large majority of games will also support the high-end PS4.”

The announcement comes on the heels of Microsoft’s Xbox One S, which was launched last week. While the One S can’t handle 4K games — another Xbox will be released next year with 4K support — it marks the start of a new battle between the two leading console companies, with each offering occasional hardware updates to keep their machines up to date with the latest tech. It sounds like Sony plans on staying in the lead.

  • Poké Radar: A Pokémon Hunting App to Help You Find Any Pokémon in Pokémon Go

Posted on July 20th, 2016 David Brooks No comments

Released in most regions of the world in July 2016, Pokémon Go (stylized as Pokémon GO) has been fast spreading around the world. It is a free-to-play location-based augmented reality mobile game developed by Niantic for iOS and Android devices. Players could travel between the real world and the virtual world of Pokémon with Pokémon GO for iPhone and Android devices. However, Pokémon Go suffers from a few major issues — the most important being that no one knows where to find specific Pokémon. It’s been part of the fun of the game to get the thrill of the hunt, but knowing nowhere to find desired Pokémon would burn you out. Imagine that you could catch when Pidgey for hundreds of times but find no place to hunt Pikachu, what would you feel?

Now, you get a solution to make things easier. You can get the Poke Radar, a community-driven Pokémon finding tool that allows players to search for Pokémon and submit their findings when they run across Pokémon anywhere in the world.

The Pokémon finding tool will display Pokémon on Google Maps for an instant preview. It is currently available both on the web and as a mobile app. Unfortunately, if you visit the website, you will see some error notices because of the wild popularity of the game and big traffic to this site. But you can visit this app on iTunes app store. It should be noted that currently only iOS version is available. The Android version is still on the way out. Therefore, Android device owners have to wait a while.

It’s quite easy to use this Pokémon finding app. After you download this app on your mobile phone (if you have multiple iOS devices, you can transfer app from iPhone to another iOS device without the need to download it again), tap the arrow button in the bottom right corner to zoom in on your current location to see which Pokémon have reportedly been spotted around you. This requires you to open the location authority on your iPhone. Then open this app, you will find all Pokémon around you.

There is a little trick to make Pokémon hunting more efficient with this app. The developer has enabled people to vote up or down a Pokémon location to proof it’s not a troll. When you see a location with a 100% approval rating, it’s probably worth checking out. If it’s below 50%, you might not want to waste your time.

Since some players suspect that some Pokémon will appear only at certain time of the day, this app will keep track of the time a Pokémon is found (day or night). Upon this, players would probably find out some rules of Pokémon’s show-up.

This Poke Radar would be a nice shot if you’re sick of catching the same Pokémon all the time and wandering aimlessly to find new creatures. The Android app will be available soon according to the developers.

Posted on February 20th, 2012 David Brooks No comments

Whether or not you admit the truth, you must have the experience of playing video games in your childhood school ages or even now, just pretty much like every other smartphone owner nowadays out there. Maybe the video games you played some 20 or even 30 years ago weren’t as flashy as that you now play on your iPhone or Android smartphones as the hardware that they ran on was nowhere near as capable as your average contemporary smartphone. However, those old school video games could be just as entertaining as the ones played today. Do you want to re-experience these classic old school video games on your fashionable iPhone and Android smartphones? Sonic CD
Sonic CDSega once had an add-on for its Genesis console known as the Sega CD. It was garbage. Another World
Another WorldIt may have been released more than 20 years ago, yet Another World is still one compelling video game. Tetris

    DOOM
DoomIn the early ’90s, violent video games were a rare kind. With its dark, diabolic atmosphere and challenging difficulty, it captured the imagination of hoards of gamers and brought the 3D first-person shooter genre to the masses. Price: $4.99. Platform: iOS

    Commander Genius
Commander GeniusHmm, Commander Genius for Android sure reminds us of Commander Keen – a classic PC video game from the early ’90s. It is an unofficial port, however, which is why flawless performance is not guaranteed. Price: Free. Platform: Android

    DONKEY.BAS
Donkey BasAs simple as it is, DONKEY.BAS has a special place in video game history. Why is that, you ask? First of all, because it is arguably the first PC video game ever produced. It was released back in 1981 and was distributed with each IBM PC sold back in the days. Oh, and it was co-written by Bill Gates too (we are not making this up). Price: $0.99. Platform: iOS
