The LG G2 is a high-end Android smartphone – an embodiment of cutting-edge hardware and precision-polished software, sprinkled with a handful of innovative goodies all over. It comes with top-of-the-line specifications, including a 5.2-inch, 1080p display made using IPS LCD technology, a quad-core Snapdragon 800 chip running at 2.3GHz, and 2GB of RAM. In terms of performance, the device should rank among the best handsets to date. Further down the list we have an advanced 13MP camera that stands out with cool features like optical image stabilization and 1080p video capturing at 60 frames per second. A notable multimedia feature is the support for 24-bit, 192kHz audio.

The design of the LG G2 is quite unusual for its volume and power buttons are placed on the back. Its thickness of 9 millimeters is acceptable considering that inside the phone you’ll find a 3000mAh removable battery. 32GB of on-board storage are present, expandable further through the use of a microSD card (in some markets).

Until now, there have been quite several flagships of Android smartphones on the market. If you’re looking for a spec-to-spec throwdown among the G2, Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One, and Motorola Moto X, start with this chart right here.

Keep in mind that we’ve had a limited amount of time with the G2, and that we won’t be able to draw any concrete conclusions until we compare our in-house review units face to face.

  • HTC finally announced HTC One with 4.7-inch 1080p HD screen display and an ‘UltraPixel’ camera

Posted on February 20th, 2013 David Brooks No comments

After so many rumors, leaks and “reliable” reports, codenamed HTC M7, the HTC One has been finally announced by HTC on an event in New York City on Tuesday. Being the next flagship Android smartphone and the successor of HTC One X family, the HTC One sticks closely to the company’s tradition of wowing fans with lofty specs, but it also innovates dramatically in a couple of key areas. “We think it’s time to shake things up in the smartphone space,” Mike Woodward, President of HTC America, told ABC News in an interview about this new HTC One. “We have decided to come out and reinvent the smartphone.”

The 4.7-inch 1080P full HD LCD display with up to 468ppi would surely bring bright, crisp, and beautiful visual effect for users, just like any other wonderful smartphones in the marketplace. No matter what angle you look at it from, this smartphone would deliver you amazing images. Thus, if you want to watch HD movies on HTC One, full HD movie entertainment could be available.

HTC is betting big on the One’s camera capabilities, which revolve around a custom-developed imaging sensor with enlarged pixels that can absorb roughly three times more light than those inside a conventional 8-megapixel camera. These UltraPixels, as the company calls them, will make for a major leap in low-light performance, however they do limit the resolution of any photos you take with the HTC One to 4 megapixels.

Being a flagship, the HTC One will naturally come equipped with 4G connectivity, 1.7GHz Snapdragon 600 SoC quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage as standard (a 64GB variant is planned for the APAC region), a 2300mAh battery, GPS and GLONASS, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, and even 802.11ac Wi-Fi. As for the software, the HTC One would come with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS and HTC’s Sense UI.

The HTC One will be available in a choice of silver or black starting in the latter half of March. HTC is aiming for a truly global release, having signed up a total of 185 carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint in the US. Though it’s reported that the higher-capacity HTC One was planned for Asian markets only, AT&T now says it will offer both a 32GB and a 64GB model.
