• Specifications and pictures of the mid-range QWERTY BlackBerry R10 got leaked in China

    Posted on May 5th, 2013 David Brooks No comments

    BlackBerry, a famous smartphone manufacturer well known for its gold-standard QWERTY handsets, has made a successful impact with its BlackBerry Z10. After the BlackBerry Z10, it has been generally accepted that the BlackBerry Q10 will be the hot ticket of the new BlackBerry 10 devices. The Q10 is reportedly to be priced higher than the Z10 in some markets. Not everyone was thrilled about this and it is possible that may have put a damper on some folks’ ambitions to upgrade to BlackBerry 10.

    While there has been some conjecture as to whether BlackBerry would cater to the mid-range handset audience with BlackBerry 10 as it has in the past with numerous iterations of the BlackBerry Curve line, it is becoming more apparent that a mid-range BlackBerry R10 device is inching closer to reality. Some new images have surfaced in China of the R10, along with some purported specifications for this Curve-esque QWERTY BlackBerry.

    BlackBerry R10 features
    * 3.1-inch display, 720 x 720 resolution;
    * 5MP rear camera, front camera;
    * Support to shoot up to 2560 x 1920 resolution photos;
    * 2G of RAM;
    * 8G internal storage;
    * 1800 mAh non-removable Battery;
    * BlackBerry 10.1 OS.

    Along with the leaked specifications, there’re also some pictures of BlackBerry R10 in black appearing online. You can take a check.

  • Detailed specs of touchscreen Blackberry 10 smartphones leaked with 4.2-inch screen

    Posted on January 17th, 2013 David Brooks No comments

    Talking about BlackBerry, many people would think of the hot rumored BlackBerry 10 smartphones. BlackBerry maker Research in Motion is helping customers prepare to switch to its soon-to-be-launched BlackBerry 10 smartphones that it hopes will help it reclaim market share from rivals such as Apple Inc. As for RIM, it is betting that the new range of touch-screen and keyboard devices, set for a January 30 launch, will revive its fortunes.

    BlackBerry 10

    Very recently in this week, TechRader got a RIM training manual for the upcoming smartphone, revealing details about the BlackBerry 10 L-Series devices, such as screen size, battery and memory. As reported, the touchscreen models of BlackBerry 10 L series smartphones would adopt 4.2″ screen display with up to 1280×768 pixels screen resolution, which means superb visual effect would be delivered for people to watch HD movies on BlackBerry 10 smartphones. The detailed information about the processor of BlackBerry 10 smartphones has not been unveiled, but it is reported to figure 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory storage. The battery volume is reported to be 1800mAh. BlackBerry 10 smartphones would come with dual cameras: 2MP front camera with 2X digital zoom and 720P video shooting, and 5MP back camera with LED flashlight, 5X digital zoom and 1080P video shooting.

    The X10, the smartphone model with a keyboard, should have similar internal specs and, along with the Z10, will sport two cameras. The front-facing camera will be 2 MP with a 2× digital zoom and 720p video recording. The back camera should be 8 MP and include a flash, auto focus, 1080p video recording and a 5× digital zoom. The phone is also said to have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS, as well as NFC, which is sorely lacking from the iPhone 5.

    RIM has yet commented on the leaked training manual, but firmly believes that the smartphones to be released on January 30 own the competence to compete with the existing popular smartphones in the market. TechRader also reported that BlackBerry 10 L series smartphones would provide 4 different models, three of which would support 4G LTE network connectivity.

  • New BlackBerry 10 Smartphone Named in BlackBerry Z10 Leaked Online in Black and White

    Posted on December 21st, 2012 David Brooks No comments

    Previously known as the “BlackBerry L-series” alias, the new BlackBerry 10 smartphone is now reported to be named under BlackBerry Z10, from unnamed sources according to the Unwired Views. According to the latest leaked pictures of this smartphone online, this new smartphone will be available in both black and white. This new smartphone would be one of several (if it turns out to be legitimate) that’s revealed at the BlackBerry 10 Event on the 30th of January, 2013 in New York, in addition to other cities around the world. Also, on this BlackBerry 10 event, RIM would introduce its new Blackberry 10 operating system to the world.

    BlackBerry Z110

    As for the main specs of this new smartphone, there’s been no clear information. But according to the reports and leaked news before, this smartphone would come with a 4.2 inch touch screen with 1280×768 pixels screen resolution. Meanwhile, the 1.5GHz TI OMAP4470 dual-core processor with 1GB RAM and 16GB storage memory ensures smooth experience. Its highly integrated PowerVR SGX544 GPU is 2.5 times of PowerVR SGX 540 GPU, which means it would produce better image effect. Thus, if you want to watch HD movies on BB10 Z10, it would not let you down.

    Other features include: UMTS/HSDPA network connectivity, dual-camera (2MP front camera for video chatting and 8MP back camera), SD card extension slot, Micro HDMI output port, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, 1800mAh battery, etc.

    Mentioning about the next smartphone on the new OS, we should miss the BlackBerry 10 OS. The most attracting point of this new OS is that it is touch-control oriented. The screen displays apps and real-time information, supports multi-task processing, allows users to check notes by up-sliding the screen. Additionally, BB10 also enhanced the BlackBerry Hub function. All the emails, BBM and social network information would be stored in the BlackBerry Hub. Even the daily schedule could be integrated. Users could easily check the information by up-and-then-right-sliding the screen in any program interface.

  • Mobile CRM apps and services for iPad, iPhone, Android, Windows Phones and Blackberry devices to be roll out in Q2 from Microsoft

    Posted on February 7th, 2012 David Brooks No comments

    Microsoft announced on Monday that it will embrace rival mobile platforms and browsers with a planned second-quarter service update of its Microsoft Dynamics CRM application, including iPad, iPhone, Android, Windows Phones and Blackberry devices. “In today’s hyperconnected world, customers need to be able to access their business-critical data on the device of their choice,” said Dennis Michalis, general manager, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, in a statement. The Dynamics CRM service update will include a new cloud-based mobile CRM service called Microsoft Dynamics CRM Mobile. Check the bellow words from ZDNet writer Mary Jo Foley to get a more detailed acquaintance about the Microsoft Dynamics CRM event.

    Summary: Microsoft will deliver mobile versions of its Dynamics CRM app and service for iPad, iPhone, Android phone, BlackBerry and Windows Phone 7 in the second quarter of 2012.

    Some time between April and May of this year, Microsoft will roll out Dynamics CRM mobile clients and service simultaneously for the iPad, iPhone, Android, Windows Phone 7 and BlackBerry devices.

    The coming mobile components — something some Windows Phone users have been asking about for years — will be part of the Dynamics CRM Q2 2012 service update, Microsoft officials said on February 6. (February 6 is the day when Microsoft is releasing its preview guide for its next update, which Microsoft has committed to provide 60 to 90 days before a new update is available to on-premises and online users.)

    All of the new mobile CRM releases will be ready at the same time and downloadable from their respective marketplaces on the same day, said Craig Dewar, Director of Product Management for Dynamics CRM.

    Here’s a Microsoft-supplied screen shot of what the Dynamics CRM app on the iPad will look like:

    CRM iPad DynamicsThe coming Dynamics CRM mobile clients/service starts at $30 per user, per month and supports the use of up to three devices per user. While this sounds pricey compared to the going rate for Office 365 and its component parts, it looks like it undercuts Salesforce’s comparable mobile-client offering, which starts at $65 per user per month. (Salesforce also has a free Mobile Lite CRM client with limited capabilities and connectivity, as does Microsoft, which still offers Mobile Express for Dynamics CRM.)

    In addition to adding mobile support to its platform, Microsoft also is stepping up its cross-browser support for Dynamics CRM users. With the Q2 update, users will have a choice of Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox and Safari running on PCs, Macs and iPads. Here’s a chart showing which versions will be supported on which platforms:

    Browser support Dynamics CRMThe Q2 update also will add more social capabilities, making Microsoft’s social CRM components look and feel even more like Facebook- and/or Salesforce Chatter. Users will have the ability to like/unlike status updates on their Activity Feeds and get improved filtering capabilities.

    Users of the on-premises version of the Q2 update also will have access to new Microsoft Excel Workbooks with pre-defined PowerPivot models and Power View Report templates to help them perform quick analyses in areas like product sales, customer demographics and sales pipelines. (Power View, a k a “Project Crescent,” is a new self-service business-intelligence feature in SQL Server 2012, which is due to launch on March 7.) Microsoft plans to add support for these enterprise capbilities to Dynamics CRM, too, at some point in the future, officials said.

    Microsoft officials said last year that the company planned to deliver quarterly updates (two major/two minor) to both its on-premises Dynamics CRM product and its hosted CRM Online one.

    The Dynamics CRM unit isn’t the only Microsoft division that is upping its cross-platform support.

    Microsoft already offers OneNote for the iPhone and iPad; a SkyDrive cloud-storage app for iPhone; a Lync client for Android; a Lync client for iPhone and Hotmail for Android. Company officials said late last year to expect even more mobile cross-platform app support from Microsoft in 2012, especially on Android devices.

    This lineup launch would be quite important and significant for RIM, who has been facing strong rivals like Google Android smart phones and Apple iOS phones, and been losing its market share for months. “This is the largest global launch of BlackBerry smartphones in our history,” Mike Lazaridis, RIM’s president and co-CEO, said in a statement. “The BlackBerry solution offers a best-in-class mobile communications experience that customers love, and we think they will be thrilled by the faster performance, enhanced browsing and richer multimedia delivered by these powerful new BlackBerry Bold and BlackBerry Torch smartphones.”
